Biography

I was born in New York City in 1982, the second of three sons. When still a small boy I moved with my family to Nyack, New York, where I grew up. My mother has made her career as an art director in advertising and my father as an illustrator and artist. My parents are both artists in their own right, and both are the children of artists. You can a find a link to their work under influences, on this page. Growing up in such an atmosphere gave me a different perspective on my own artistic pursuits. I never seriously considered another career path (full disclosure: I have a day job). I view my artistic endeavors as my entrance into a family tradition of which I'm very proud.

I attended the State University of New York at Binghamton, from which I graduated with a BFA in Painting. I found that in studying in a small program (albeit at a large school) I was able to receive a great deal of personal guidance from my professors, forming real friendships in the process, while still being allowed the freedom to develop on my own.

Another (and larger) reason I enjoyed my college experience so much is it's where I met my wife Lana. We met while both undergraduates, and after a long courtship were married in 2008. We live in Brooklyn, NY, with our cat Ziggy.
